Joe Biden's Department of the Interior is offering up a vast area of the Gulf for drilling projects that will stretch out over decades. 32 fossil fuel companies collectively bid $309.7 million for drilling rights during the auction. The area made available to drilling companies is 73.3m acres. The Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster happened 13 years ago. The bill signed by Joe Biden last summer, that included stipulations that large areas of the Gulf and Alaska be made available for fossil fuel drilling is called the Inflation Reduction Act. Joe Manchin supported this bill in order to appease him. Joe Biden's actions will do more harm than good in terms of emissions cuts.
